Life Teen brings its Catholic youth ministry and summer camp programming to the mountains of Julian through two distinct experiences at Whispering Winds: Camp Golden State for high school teens and EDGE Summer Camp for middle school youth.
Both camps invite young people to step away from everyday distractions and encounter Christ through prayer, the Sacraments, community, outdoor adventure, and authentic relationships.
More Than a Week at Camp
From middle school to high school, each experience combines Catholic formation with the energy, adventure, and community of summer camp.
Faith
Mass, Scripture, Eucharistic Adoration, reconciliation, praise and worship, and prayer create opportunities for teens to encounter Christ throughout the week.
Adventure
Outdoor recreation, team challenges, and new experiences invite campers to step outside their comfort zones and discover what they are capable of.
Community
Small groups, shared experiences, and parish-based camp life strengthen relationships between teens and the leaders who walk alongside them.
Unplug

Middle school and high school are very different seasons, which is why Life Teen offers a dedicated camp experience for each age group.
EDGE Summer Camp meets middle school youth with engaging, age-appropriate faith experiences and plenty of energy, while Camp Golden State gives high school teens opportunities to go deeper in discipleship, community, prayer, and leadership.

Camp Golden State
Life Teen's high school summer camp experience combines Catholic faith, adventure, community, prayer, Sacraments, and unforgettable moments on the mountain.
Designed for high-school-age youth, Camp Golden State gives teens space to deepen their relationship with Christ while growing alongside their parish community.
EDGE Summer Camp
Life Teen's middle school camp experience brings together Catholic formation, energetic programming, outdoor adventure, friendship, prayer, and plenty of camp fun.
EDGE creates an environment designed specifically for middle school youth as they begin to explore and take ownership of their Catholic faith.
Looking Ahead to Summer 2027
Camp Golden State and EDGE will return to Whispering Winds for another summer on the mountain.
2027 dates, pricing, registration timelines, and specific camp requirements will be announced through Life Teen.

Both Camp Golden State and EDGE are designed around the parish youth ministry community rather than individual camper registration.
Youth experience camp alongside the adult leaders who already walk with them at home, strengthening relationships throughout the week and giving parish ministries a foundation to continue discipleship after camp.
Families interested in either camp should connect with their parish youth minister or ministry leader to learn whether their parish is participating.
