You may see turkeys, deer, woodpeckers, and lots of squirrels. Please remember to give the animals their space. In the event that you spot a bobcat or mountain lion, DON’T RUN. Make eye contact with the animal, make yourself look really big, and make lots of noise. Slowly back away to a safe space. Once you’re safe, please let our staff know what you saw and that you’re okay.

    • If First Aid Kits and AED machines are needed, they are located at our Dining Hall and Welcome Center. During the summer (June-Sept), there will also be one at the Pool, and during our off-season (Oct-May), there will be an AED at Founders Hall. Seek out a staff member for immediate assistance.

    • If there is an emergency onsite, you will continuously hear the meadow bell ring. That is your cue to gather in Founders Hall and await further instructions from our staff.

    • When it’s time to head back down the mountain, please help us by turning off the lights and AC/heater and leaving your room door unlocked.

    • For checkout, if you’re here with a rental group, your group leader will need to stop by the Welcome Center to fill out important information before your departure. As for those attending Whispering Winds Programs, check out information will be provided to you by our staff.
