How do I begin the reservation process?
Complete our online rental inquiry form, or call our office at 619-464-1479. We will ask you the information on the inquiry form.
How much of a deposit is required? When is it due?
We require a 25% deposit for your minimum guaranteed number of people. Contracts are sent approximately 6 months prior to your arrival date; the deposit is due with the signed contract 30 days later.
What kind of retreats do you host?
We host groups from all over Southern California and Arizona for youth, confirmation, parish ministries, families, corporate retreats, etc.
Does my group have to be Catholic to come to Whispering Winds?
No, all groups are welcome!
What is included in the standard rate?
Lodging, meals, use of one dedicated meeting space for the group, and most shared camp amenities (hiking trails, Game room, treehouse and slide, prayer chapel, meadow, campfire pits, tennis and basketball court, etc.)
May I rent out the whole camp?
Yes, check out our Exclusive Use option.
Do you have a pool? How much does it cost?
Yes! The pool is seasonal from June-August. The day use runs from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM at $200 per day. Additional cost for private swims and/or swim outside of posted hours when available.
How do I Reserve the Add-On Recreation?
Please let us know on the reservation inquiry form or when calling about your reservation. The Add-On Recreation are not always available and requires advanced booking.

How may I visit the camp?
You can request to visit camp by sending an email to office@whisperingwinds.org or giving our Welcome Center a call at 760-765-1600.
What forms do I need to bring to camp?
No forms need to be brought onsite. All rental groups with guests over 18 years of age entering Whispering Winds need to fill out an online waiver before arriving to camp. The group code is given to the group leader once the contract is sent.
Rental groups with guests under 18 years of age do not need to fill out an online waiver for Whispering Winds. However, their group leader will need to fill out a Youth Group Leader Waiver. This form will be provided to the group leader once a contract is sent.
Other programs such as Family Camp, Senior Moments, Confirmation Retreat, and Women’s Auxiliary Retreat have their own separate waiver that will be sent to them via email once they are registered.
What is the insurance requirement?
We require comprehensive general liability insurance with a combined single limit for personal injury and property damage of not less than $1,000,000.
Will my group be the only one at camp?
Not necessarily – we can host up to 2 groups at a time. If you are sharing the camp with other groups, we will inform you of our availability, and you will know closer to your retreat date which meeting space you will be assigned.
How far in advance do I need to book?
ASAP – dates are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. We can put date inquiries on our calendar about 8-10 months in advance.
How is the food?
Our kitchen staff onsite cooks and serve delicious meals! We can handle most dietary restrictions; please let us know as soon as possible if anyone in your group is a vegetarian, eats gluten-free, etc. Please visit our Dining Hall page.

What’s the weather like?

Do you have a priest on site?
No, but we can recommend some local priests whom you may contact.
What sacramental elements are available for guests to use?
Our Prayer Chapel Includes an altar and ambo, a processional cross, and candle holders. Tabernacle and mass kit available upon request. Items can be reserved for adoration, small masses, and prayer services.
How fast does the zip line go?
Approximately 2 miles/hour—although it feels MUCH faster! More details.
Where does your funding come from?
Rental fees and donations from the community.
Does staff live on-site?
Some camp staff live on-site year-round and some are at camp seasonally.
