This summer’s Family Camp carnival featured many children dressed up in fun costumes, including this adorable boy! This fellow is one of five children in a family who traveled from Fullerton to attend Special Needs Family Camp. They have enjoyed the special programming that is tailored to their typical children and of course they are grateful for the one-on-one buddy their son, who has autism, has been able to bond with. “The special needs camp was so impactful” said the boy’s mother. “The ability to share our experiences with other families who’ve walked along similar paths and know that there is support going along this path that God put us on is invaluable.”
Whispering Winds serves over 11,000 campers each year, most of whom are teens. Our goal is to encourage the faith walk of these youth and all others who come to camp seeking a closer relationship to God.
We offered scholarships to over 60 families attending our traditional and military Family Camps this summer! We also partnered with many non-profits such as Noah Homes, who advocate for adults with developmental disabilities and Village of Promise, who impact the lives of children with incarcerated parents. In all, 44 organizations received grants in 2019. We couldn’t have done this without your help!
